Abstract (EN)
With the increasing population, urbanization, industrialization and spread of technology in the world, energy consumption is constantly increasing. In the face of increasing energy demand, the main objective of countries is to obtain energy from renewable sources. The problem of global warming is growing day by day in the world. Companies are accelerating their renewable energy investments to limit and reduce as much as possible harmful emissions. This thesis is focused on renewable energy and hybrid renewable energy power plants in Turkey. In this study, a system was designed to provide efficient use of solar and wind energy. In some cases, the demand for electrical energy from facilities not connected to the electricity grid should also be met. For this purpose, solar-wind-diesel based hybrid power plant was investigated for grid-off and grid-on situations. In both cases, a diesel generator is used to increase system reliability. In addition, the battery pack is used for the non-mains connection. HOMER (Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewables) software was used for the analysis of the systems. Technical and financial evaluations were made with HOMER. Simulation and optimization analyzes of hybrid systems modeled with HOMER for Elazığ province were performed. In addition, environmental impacts of the systems were evaluated. As a result, the grid-on system was found to be better because the cost of capital was about three times cheaper, although the energy cost was slightly higher than the grid-off system. The grid-on system is also more reliable in terms of energy continuity. In this study, the effect of hybrid system on grid-on classical system was also evaluated and it was found that hybrid system was superior in terms of economy and reliability.
