Abstract (EN)
Characterization studies are one of the important elements of plant breeding. Tomato is one of the most cultivated vegetable species. Tokat Domatesi is an important population with a long history. In this study, morphological and biochemical characterization of Tokat Domatesi was done. The study was carried out in Tokat in 2018. In this study 39 genotypes in F2-F4 generation selected from 200 tomato genotypes were characterized. UPOV criteria were modified and used in characterization studies. In the study, qualitative and quantitative properties such as plant habitus, plant height, leaf and fruit color, hairiness, average fruit weight, carpal number of fruit, fruit hardness, soluble solid dry matter and titratable acidity were examined. Considering important characteristics in characterization, the genotypes were exposed to the "Weight-Ranked Method". Leaf and stem color of genotypes were determined in different shades of green. Fruit color was pink in two genotypes and red in other genotypes. Plant height and stem diameter of genotypes changed between 47.23-89.07 cm and 11.43-26.01 mm, respectively. Average fruit weight was determined as 76.00-311.93 grams, The number of carpel in fruits changed between 2,0-7,67. Soluble solid dry matter and titratable acidity of genotypes varied between 2.50-6.57% and 0.24-0.48%, respectively. As a result of Weight-Ranked, the total scores of the genotypes ranged from 140 to 270. TN-2 and TD-100 genotypes were obtained with 270 of the highest scoring. As a result, the morphological and biochemical characterization of the promising genotypes selected from the populations of Tokat Domatesi has been made. In the study, materials have been created for the breeding programs to be carried out in tomatoes for the future, the other hand, a database has been created for Tokat Domatesi population.
