Abstract (EN)
Since the 1980s, efficiency and competitiveness have become increasingly paramount for businesses. Concurrently, the conservation of natural resources and environmental sustainability have garnered significant global attention. In this context, companies have become more cognizant of their social responsibilities and have begun adopting lean and sustainability-oriented practices. Green supply chain management encompasses both forward and reverse logistics processes, covering green design, green production, green distribution, green procurement, and reverse logistics activities. This management approach not only optimizes resource utilization but also contributes to the preservation of natural resources. The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of green supply chain management practices on environmental performance within manufacturing enterprises and to assess how these effects are perceived by employees. To this end, a survey was conducted with 50 companies operating in Mersin, and a total of 400 employees participated in the study. Data were collected through online questionnaires. The findings reveal the key relationships between environmental performance and environmental management systems, while also identifying other factors influencing these systems. Additionally, sample characteristics such as firm size and years of operation were examined. The research findings indicate that top management support plays a crucial role in shaping environmental management systems, which, in turn, significantly influence environmental performance. In this study, green supply chains and their components were analyzed in detail, and the historical development of the concept in the literature was also explored. Keywords: Green Logistics, Environmental Sustainability, Reverse Logistics
