Abstract (EN)
Neo-Classicism, which emerged in the beginning of the Twentieth Century, became one of the topmost trends of the century and many composers wrote pieces in this style. Although the word "Neo-Classic" is reminiscent of the Classic Period (18th Century) in music, it did not refer only to this period in practice, techniques and compositional tools belonging to Baroque and Renaissance periods were also among the utilized materials. In the first half of the Twentieth Century, the application of this style by Neo-Classical composers differed from one another and each composer interpreted the tools of the past periods with his own touch. As a result, musical works, presenting diverse characteristics, were composed under the title "Neo-Classical Music." This thesis study aims at examining the disparities among selected Neo-Classical orchestral works.
