Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the geological, petrographic, geochemical and structural characteristics of a selected marble field in Muğla Province, Yatağan District, Yılanlı Region, to increase production efficiency and to control the amount of waste and rubble formed during the production phase and land use using geographical information systems. In this study, drilling, pit splitting, hand samples and mapping data required to be carried out in accordance with the Mining Law and relevant regulations in a sample Group II (b) operating license issued by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs were examined. In addition, structural investigations were carried out in the field, and petrographic and geochemical analyzes of marble samples taken from the field were carried out. In this field, the numerical data of the areas that were measured and mapped on a yearly basis were modeled with the help of three-dimensional drawing programs, and the amounts of blocks, rubble and waste produced based on these data were calculated and statistical analyzes were made on these data. In the light of the data obtained, it has been understood that gray marbles are common in the relevant license area, that they are predominantly composed of calcite mineral, and that they have acquired an intensely fractured and fissured structure due to being affected by tectonism. In addition, the spatial and quantitative control of production and other business activities in the license area revealed that the productivity in the relevant business area remained very low and more area was used than necessary. This study has once again demonstrated that remote sensing applications will make serious contributions to the control of areas where marble block production is made in our country and the planning of production and operating activities. Spatial and quantitative control of mining activities is very important in preventing.
