Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is assumed that managers' high performance expectations have a positive effect on employees' self efficacy and work engagement. In this context, the mediating effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between high performance expectations and employees' work engagement and the moderating role of job insecurity in the relationship between high performance expectations and self-efficacy were investigated. The research was conducted using two distinct sample survey methodologies, comprising 395 teachers and 275 salespersons employed in the private in Trabzon. In the study, SPSS 25, PROCESS and Amos package programmes were used for data analysis. A series of reliability analyses were performed, correlation analyses were executed and hypothesis tests were carried out in order to ascertain the relationships between the hypotheses. According to the research findings, high performance expectations increase employees' work engagement. The relationship between high performance expectations and employees' work engagement is mediated by self-efficacy. At the same time, job insecurity was found to have a moderating role in the relationship between high performance expectations and employees' self-efficacy.
