The direction of change of the research object in management science through management science theories

In this thesis, the theoretical change experienced by the science of management until 2022, the foundations of which were laid by F. Taylor's work titled "The Principles of Scientific Management" dated 1911, will be examined. In the pre-1911 period, management thought, which gained an instrumental meaning in scientific fields such as economics, law and history, especially in political science, has been the subject of the claim of being an original field of science since 1911. The assumption on which this claim is based is that management thought is a original 'object of research'. To put it more clearly, the argument that management thought is a original field of science is that it is a 'research object' with original principles, elements and rules in management thought, as in other branches of science; For this reason, he argues that in order to think about management, it is necessary to save management from the influence of other sciences and to deal with it within the framework of its own originality. The aim of this thesis is to examine the original management science theories put forward between 1911-2022 in a chronological order and to prove that the 'research object' has different qualities in three different periods: classical, modern and post-modern. At this point, the main assertion of this thesis is that the chronological change indicated by the 'research object' of management science follows a consistent path, that is, there is a 'change direction'. In this way, both a detailed presentation of management science theory will be made and an opportunity to make predictions about the future of management science theory will be tried to be presented in line with the main assertion of the thesis.
