Role of management information systems in improving management performance: A case study of industry companies in Palestine

Our contemporary world is characterized by a high degree of scientific logic and technological developments, whose effects have been reflected on various areas of life in general and the business sector in particular. The information revolution has affected the management process of companies through their increasing need for a robust information system capable of coping with new and changing circumstances surrounding them. Management performance is one of the basic and important administrative processes in any company. Through good management performance, companies can achieve their goals efficiently and effectively. Thus, companies can maintain their continuity, success and competitiveness in today's rapidly changing environment. Therefore, these companies had to work continuously to improve their management performance. This is what this thesis attempts to help companies in by highlighting the role of management information systems in improving administrative performance in industrial companies. Initially in this thesis, concepts, types, components and importance of management information systems were explained. Then management performance was clarified in terms of its concept, elements, determinants, factors affecting it and benefits of its evaluation. Finally, the practical aspect of the thesis was discussed: how data was collected by distributing questionnaires to industrial companies in Palestine, and how statistical methods and tests were used in analyzing data and obtaining results.
