vTHE PLANT SPECIES REQUIRED TO BE CONSERVED IN YOZGAT ANDPROTECTION MEASURES(M.Sc. Thesis)F.Selda BOZTEPEGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYOctober 2006ABSTRACTThis study has been made to local endemic plant species required to be preserved inYozgat in order to take protection precautions. For this purpose, the Kazankaya canyonhas been determined as preferential working site where the plant species Psephellusturcicus and Scorzonera ekimii in the threatened category (CR) and the plant speciesSilene birandiana in the threatened category (EN) exist. The species Psephellus turcicusand Scorzonera ekimii have been examined only in one location (Kazankaya Canyon)and the species Silene birandiana in two locations (Kazankaya Canyon and Çayıralan-Akdağ). Upon the study, we have not observed any threat factor for any of these 3 plantspecies. However, as their frequency is very low related to total taxon number and totalindividual number in their habitat, this fact may suggest that protection measuresshould be taken in future.Science Code : 912Key Words : Yozgat, Kazankaya, Endemic plant, ProtectionPage Number : 92Adviser : Prof. Dr. Mecit VURAL
