The Effect of Demographic Properties on How Conflict is Handled by People WhoWork in a Highly Disciplined OrganizationMehmet SUTAŞIRDokuz Eylül UniversityInstitute Of Social SciencesDepartment of Management and OrganizationConflict gaining importance in the recent years with its various descriptions,has become an important study field as its positive effects on individuals andorganizations are recognized. Conflict, defending its importance as a subject studiedwithin a variety of samples can be defined as events generated from the individuals?sand groups?s problems of working in company and causing the normal activities tocome an end or become in a disorderly way.To minimize the effects of conflict as a concept that is both useful and harmingfor the work life, organizational as well as individual interferences are needed. For thatreason, conflict?s development, reasons, results and how it can be handled areargued.In this thesis, concept of conflict is examined by a comprehensive literatureresearch. Within the researched area, conflict solution styles and the effect ofdemographic variables on these styles accepted by the personnel working for anorganization defined as highly disciplined are determined.Key Words: 1- Conflict, 2- Conflict Managment, 3- Discipline, 4- RahimOrganizational Conflict Inventory
