Abstract (EN)
In this study, some physical and mechanical properties of boron waste obtained from Eskişehir Kırka boron mines and geopolymer mortars produced using blast furnace slag (YFC) supplied from Karabük Karçimsa were examined. YFC is the main material in the mixture and boron waste is used in 0%, 3%, 6%, 9%, 12% and 15% ratios. Sodium silicate and sodium hydroxide were used together as activators in the study. The sodium hydrooxide solution is prepared in three different concentrations (5 mol, 10 mol and 15 mole). Socket start, socket end times, compressive strengths, flexural strengths, ultrasound transition rates (UPV), high temperature (300°C, 600°C and 900°C) resistance of boron waste doped and YFC based geopolymer mortars at certain rates were examined. The results obtained were supported by microstructure (SEM and XRD) experiments. The change in the strength of the control numbers in 7 and 28 days according to the mole concentration and boron waste increase was examined. As a result, as the mole rate increased, the socket start and end times decreased. When the 7 and 28 day compressive strengths are examined, the highest compressive strength is obtained from 10 M Sodium Hydroxide concentration. It has been observed that geopolymer samples obtained using boron waste and YFC can be used in different proportions within the mortar. As the amount of boron waste increased, the pressure resistance, flexural strength and UPV values decreased. The compressive strength values of samples exposed to high temperatures decreased as the temperature increased. As the amount of boron waste increases, decreases in strength have been observed.
