Abstract (EN)

In this study high voltage insulator was produced. For this purpose alumina was used insteadof quartz which is currently used. High voltage alumina masse was produced by usingalumina and properties of this masse was investigated. Three different recipes were used inexperiment. Specified ratios of raw materials were weighed and grown. Grinding was appliedby 2,5 hours in wet condition. At the end of grinding masse were passed from sneke and filterpress and plastics masse was produced. After the shaping process, samples were sintered withand without glazing. Sintering was performed at 1310 oC.Dry shrinkaga, firing shrinkage was measured before and after sintering. Water absorbtion, strength and oil penetration was applied to the samples. Mineralogical content of the sinteredsamples were investigated by XRD, SEM, Chemical Analysis techniques. As a result of the experimental studies it was found that; alumina containing masse sampleshas better drying shrikage, firing shrinkage, strength and water absorbtion voiles. Oilpenetration test result of alumina containing mass is also suitable to that of standards.Key Words: Insulator, alumina, sintering.
