Abstract (EN)

Turkey's geographical location in an active seismic zone necessitates extreme sensitivity in the construction of earthquake-resistant structures. Recent earthquakes have further emphasized this necessity. High buildings are widely preferred in major cities due to increasing population and urbanization. These structures serve various functions such as residential, office, and commercial spaces and require special design and analysis due to their complex engineering characteristics. However, ensuring the seismic safety of high buildings has become even more critical due to their intricate dynamic behavior. In this study, the performance evaluation of a 25-Kat existing reinforced concrete building with a rectangular geometry was conducted using nonlinear time hiKat analysis within the scope of the 2018 Turkish Building Earthquake Code (TBEC 2018). The building model was created using the ETABS software according to the design principles specified in TBEC 2018. The analysis was performed using acceleration records from eleven different earthquakes available in the literature. Based on the results, the seismic behavior of building under earthquake effects was assessed.
