COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN OF LINEAR MOTION SYSTEMS WITH ROLLING FRICTION (M. Sc. Thesis) Mustafa YILDIRIM GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FEBRUARY 1997 ABSTRACT In this work, computer aided design of linear motion systems with rolling friction has been achieved. The definition, application area, aims and affect factors of design computation of linear motion systems has been investigated. Bed and slide way mechanisms with slip friction and friction coefficient and high position accuracy values have been compared. In addition, sample design applications of LMS have been performed.
