Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, an organic/inorganic hybrid material was synthesized to prevent environmental influences damage on the surfaces of various archaeological and architectural monuments (sculpture, monument, etc.) and stone / marble based materials used on the exterior surfaces of modern buildings. For this purpose, three different marble samples belonging to different geographical regions were cut in different sizes for using experiment. It were cleaned and brought to constant weigh. Octa-γ-chloropropyloctasylesquioxane (POSS-CL8) and Zn doped TiO2 NPs were prepared separately, then graft technique and Zn-TiO2 nanoparticle was introduced into POSS-CL8 matrix by grafting technique. The prepared Zn-TiO2/POSS-CL8 nanocomposite material characterized with XRD, FTIR, TGA, SEM-EDX, XRF, particle size measurement, BET zeta potential measurements and viscosity measurements. Self-cleaning and hydrophobic properties of the coating material and its biocidal activity were evaluated. Contact angle and roughness with AFM (surface energies and hydrophobicity), porosity, UV light aging, chromatic discoloration, porosity, wettability and biocidal effects were investigated to demonstrate hydrophobicity to demonstrate the effectiveness of the coating. As a result of the photocatalytic studies, it has been determined that at the end of 150 minutes, in the UV region, after 98.99% degradation in the coated Adıyaman light emperador marble sample, 99.61% in the coated Afyon white marble sample and 99.05% in the coated Marmara gray marble sample. In contact angle measurements, the contact angle values after coating increased from 48,663° to 102,974° in the Adıyaman light emperador marble sample, from 49,107° to 99,527° in the Afyon white marble sample and from 49,269° to 106,267° in the Marmara gray sample. Keywords: POSS-CL8, Zn-TiO2, photocatalyst, hydrophobic protective coating.
