Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between anthropometric features, some physical fitness parameters and swimming performances in children who do swimming. In this study the investigate group regularly contour the swimming performance in İstanbul Metropolitan municipality sport club. There are 24 girl average of age 10,00±0,83 years and 24 boys average of age 9,91±0,82 years. Thus in total there are 48 licensed children. In this investigate, the anthropometric features of swimmers children (stature, body weight, arm span frequency of arm, length of sitting, hand length, hand wideness, foot length), some physical features (left and right handgrip strength, flexibility, balance, standing long jump) and 50-meter swimming performances are measured. The girls average of age 10.00±0,83 years participated the investigate have body weight 35,55±8,25 kg and stature 142,29±8.57 cm. The boys average of age 9,91±0,82 years have body weight 36,25±8,25 and stature 140.51±6,92. There isn't any difference the between anthropometric features of boys and girl's children statically (p>0,05). There is not found statically any difference between swimming performance and other physical fitness features (p>0,05). It is found that there is negative relationship between variable arm spam, overage height, hand length hand wideness, hand length with 50-meter free style swimming performance with girls (p<0,05). There is not found any relationship foot weight with 50-meter swimming performance (p>0,05). There is negative relationship between right handgrip strength, left hand grip strength, flexibility, hand length, standing long jump and balance with 50-meter free style swimming performance of girls (p<0,05). It is found positive relationships between variable arm spam with right handgrip strength, length of sitting, hand length, hand wideness, foot length and food wideness; left handgrip strength with arm spam, length of sitting, hand length, hand wideness and foot length of girls. (p<0,05). It is found that there is negative relationship between arm spam with 50-meter free style swimming performance of boys participated to the investigate. There is not found any relationship 50-meter swimming performance with other anthropometric features (p<0,05). It is found negative meaningful relationship between standing long jump with 50-meter swimming performance. It is found positive meaningful relationships between arm spam with right handgrip strength, hand length, hand wideness and foot length; arm spam with left handgrip strength, hand length and foot length (p<0,05). As a conclusion, based on the findings obtained from the study, it can be said that anthropometric features and some physical fitness characteristics play a determining role on swimming children, and that a desired improvement can be achieved in swimming performance with regular studies on the development of these features in training.
