Abstract (EN)
The word generation is a concept created to express people who were born and grew up in the same periods and had a common share of everything, good or bad, that occurred in these periods. Silent generation, Baby Boom generation, Generation X, Generation Y, Generation Z are known generations. Generation Z, known in the sources as the digital generation, consisting of those born between 1996-2010 or 2000-2010, is the main element of this study. The aim of this study is to determine whether the demographic characteristics of Generation Z, residing in Şanlıurfa province, lead to differences in their expectations from business life and career perceptions, and to see the values they attach importance to in business life. The unique value of this study can be shown as the fact that it will contribute to the studies that have been done and are likely to be done about Generation Z's expectations from business life and career perceptions, and that no research has been done on this subject before in Şanlıurfa. Likert-type survey scale was used as the research method. According to the results, workplace reputation, economic security, social values and organizational culture are important for Generation Z. According to other findings, most of the participants preferred to work in the public sector and stated that they had no previous work experience. When the survey items were divided into factors, it was determined that these factor levels did not differ in terms of variables such as marital status, age difference, job preference, but they differed in terms of variables such as living place, income level, and education level. It has been determined that the gender variable differs only at the level of the economic income factor.
