Abstract (EN)

Zekat (giving alms) is one of the most important matters of economic life. Because of this it is freguently mentioned about in the Kur' an. İt is a generally subject taken to hand in the Kur' an and there is nothing about the limits which determine the amount of zekat and even the goods which reguire to give it. All the measures for the zekat limits are originated from the hadis. These measurements which means minimal limit for riches were equal to each other in the era of the prophet and it met a families annual cost of living. These measurements was long years used in countries whose economies depended on agriculture and stocbreeding. There was no important problem with the measurements for zekat because the vahiy and the economic life are happen to be in the same priod. With the industrial revolution agriculture and stockbreeding lost its former importanse. Industrialism replaced agriculture and gained more importance. The zekat limits were determened according the agricultural society anda now some problems appeared. The limits for being rich changed. There is no information about the zekat limits in the Kur' an but also there stands nothing that it can't be changed. Acording to this every society can define the limits for being rich by considerind the amount necessary for a families annual cost of living.
