Doğrusal öngörü ile konuşma işareti kodlayıcısı tasarımı
İnsan konuşma sistemi üzerine bina edilen ve matematiksel araç olarak doğrusal öngörüyü kullanan model tabanlı bir konuşma işareti kodlayıcı MATLAB programı üzerinde gerçeklenmiştir. Gerçek zamanda çalışmayan sistem, kayıtlı konuşma işaretlerini doğrusal öngörü ile kodlayarak (analiz) tanımlanan biçimleme ile .lpc uzantılı dosyaya yazar, sonra dosyayı okuyup kodu çözerek (sentez) giriş-çıkış işaretlerini kullanıcıya dinletir ve görsel animasyonlar yapar. Ses kodlayıcı 3.84 kb/s ve 2.56 kb/s olmak üzere iki veri çıkış hızında çalışabilmektedir. Testlerde Ulusal Elektronik ve Kriptoloji Araştırma Enstitüsü'nden temin edilen Turtel Kütüphanesi'nin bir alt kümesi (5 erkek 5 kadın konuşmacının 15'er cümlesi) ve 3.84 kb/s çıkış hızına sahip ses kodlayıcı kullanılmıştır. Yaş ortalamaları 31 olan 8 erkek 7 kadın katılımcı ile yapılan Mutlak Kategori Test'i sonucunda ses kodlayıcın kalitesi 3.4 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Determining the level of mental distress among caregivers of patients withepileps
Background / objective: Caregivers play an important role in the management of epilepsy in the community. Caring for patients with epilepsy can cause emotional distress in caregivers. This study investigated the effect of demographic characteristics and dimensions of mental distress among family caregivers of epilepsy patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of mental distress in those who care for patients with epilepsy. Method: A total of 100 caregivers of patients with epilepsy in the Specialist Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases at Diwaniyah Teaching Hospital were included. Non-probability sampling was performed. Data were collected from 10/5/2020 to 10/11/2020. Data in the study were collected with an information form and the General Health Questionnaire (GSQ). The data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel version 2010 and SPSS version 20. Statistical significance was set at 5% level of probability. Results: The caregivers consisted of 100 people comprising 48.0% females and 52.0% males. Patient caregivers had mean total GSQ-28 points of 11.36 ±2.505. The mean scale points were high by a statistically significant degree for patient caregivers with young age, high educational level, inadequate income level, those living in rural areas and who were parents of the patient (p<0.05). Conclusion: Emotional distress was present among caregivers for patients with epilepsy and the need for attention to improve the psychological care factors of the caregivers is noted. 802.15.13 standardındaki optik ağların analizi ve optimizasyonu
In recent years, commercialization of visible light communication networks have started. As a result, there are multiple groups working for their standardization. In this work, we focus on one of them, which is IEEE 802.15 Task Group 13 and their 802.15.13 Optical Wireless Personal Area Networks (OWPAN) standard draft. The network generated according to the draft is analysed for network load and an algorithm to improve network throughput is proposed. In 802.15.13 draft, the MAC protocol uses contention free and contention access periods. This paper investigates how those period lengths should be determined. Our suggested algorithm improves the performance of the network at least 5% in the case of variable network traffic up to 15 active~users.
