Omuz subakromiyal sıkışma sendromu olan hastalarda kor stabilizasyon ve propiıseptif nöromusküler fasilitasyon egzersizlerinin ağrı, eklem hareketi, kas kuvveti, postür ve fonksiyonellik üzerine etkileri

The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the human body, making an individual possible for performing a wide range of motion. Shoulder disorders such as Subacromial Impingement Syndrome (SIS) are the most common forms of musculoskeletal disorders and shoulder pathology with occurrence of pain and dysfunction during daily activities. The SIS injuries and rehabilitation may considerably vary, and are always important to arrange an appointment with a healthcare practitioner. Among the rehabilitation techniques, core stabilization exercises, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) improve the shoulder rehabilitation. The objective of this study was to assess the effects of core stabilization and PNF exercises on slow motion of joint, muscle power, posture, and functionality in the patients with SIS. To do this, a total of 50 persons (25 in experimental group and 25 in control group; ages ranging from 18 to 65 yr) attending in a privately owned hospital in İstanbul was involved. All the selected patients were with SIS longer than 6 months. The evaluation were made in the beginning and sixth week of the study by the same physiotherapist according to the pain, strength and endurance of the core muscles, motion of neck and shoulder joint, muscle strength for shoulder muscle, posture, and functional status criteria. The statistical analyses were performedby SPSS 19 package program. The results showed that core stabilization and PNF exercises positively affected strength of core muscle, core endurance, and posture, whereas there were there was not any significant effects on pain, joint range of motion, strength of shulder muscle, and functional values. In conclusion, this study revealed that the core stabilization and PNF exercises may partially improvethe symptoms related to the SIS as compared to the regular treatment in the clinic. Kürekçilerde hamstring kasinin viskoelastisitesi ve atletik performans: Balistik germenin, hamstring uzatma egzersizinin ve kinezyo bantlamanin etkileri

The study aims to investigate acute effects of ballistic hamstring stretching, hamstring extender exercise, and kinesiotaping application on mechanical properties of hamstring muscles and standing long jump performance on elite and sub-elite athletes. A total of 60 volunteer participants including 30 rowing athlete who are in Fenerbahçe Rowing Team and 30 rowing athletes who are in the Turkish Divers Club were included(60M; 15,08±0,787 years.) between January 2021-February 2021. Biomechanical parameters of hamstring muscles were assessed by MyotonPRO, Tallinn, Estonia. Athletic performance was assessed by Standing Long Jump Test (SLJT). The athletes were randomly divided into Ballistic Hamstring Stretching Group (n= 20), Hamstring Extender Exercise Group (n= 20), and Kinesiotape Group (n= 20). After applications, MyotonPRO and SLJT measurements were applied again. According to the results of study, There is an improvement in frequency of m. biceps femoris longus and frequency and stiffness of m. semitendinozus for BHSG, frequency of m. biceps femoris longus and relaxation time of m. semitendinozus for HEEG, and frequency and stiffness of m. biceps femoris longus and frequency, stiffness, relaxation time and creep of m. semitendinozus for KTG compared to before and after results. In addition, all groups have statistically significant improvement in athletic performance which is assessed by SLJT (p < 0.05). When comparing the three groups, there is only one statistically significant was found in frequency of m. biceps femoris longus (p < 0.05). This statistically significant difference was due to BHSG and HEEG, and there was a positivity towards BHSG. No difference was found between groups in terms of athletic performance which is assessed by SLJT. Ballistic Hamstring Stretching, Hamstring Extender Exercise, and Kinesio Taping applications can be used to improve the viscoelastic properties which are tones, stiffness, and flexibility of the hamstring muscles. There was no superiority between the three applications, but Ballistic hamstring stretching can be preferred to improve the frequency of the biceps femoris longus muscle. All three applications can be used to increase the athletes' athletic performance.

Koşucularda koşu biyomekaniği değerlendirmesi

With the increasing awareness of maintaining a healthy lifestyle in modern life, running activity is becoming popular not only by professional but also amateur athletes. Considering that running, which increases cardiovascular endurance, can cause athletes to experience acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries if done unconsciously, understanding running biomechanics for runners of all levels can contribute to the prevention of injuries and support the development of running performance. Therefore, the purpose of this study is; to measure running biomechanics and vertical jump parameters in amateur runners and to examine the relationship between these parameters. The study included 22 amateur runners (32.23 ± 6.43 years) who received running training and had a running training period according to their annual race goals. Foot posture index and footbalance sole analysis system of each runner's foot and ankle posture in stance position; Functional dorsiflexion angle of the ankle was measured with the Weight Bearing Lunge Test. Performance-related tests are performed by optojump system, Squat Jump Test, (Height) and running biomechanical parameters are Treadmill running test (contact time, contact phase, flight time, foot flat phase, propulsion phase, stride length, step length and height). measured. Before running and jumping measurements, each runner was given a standardized warm-up program (3 minutes of running up to 12 km / h) and mobility exercise. As a result of this study, there is no statistically significant relationship was found between positional stance parameters of the foot and biomechanical running parameters (p> 0.05). However, maximal vertical jump is higher in runners with a high foot dorsiflexion angle (p <0.05). In addtion, no relationship was found between the height of the foot in running from the ground and the maximal vertical jump height. (p> 0.05). A negative correlation was found between contact time and contact phase, step length and stride length which are among the running parameters (p <0.05). There is a positive correlation between height, contact phase and step length in running. (p <0.05) In conclusion, while evaluating running biomechanics, we consider that dynamic performance measurements as well as static evaluations are valuable in evaluating running biomechanics and offering suggestions to improve running performance. For amateur runners of a certain level, reaction time drills based on the height, contact phase and duration of the foot from the ground, middle forefoot running press drills and horizontal jumps exercises, proprioception-balance exercises can be recommended to increase the step length and stride length that will affect the running performance. In addition, ankle mobility exercise and recommendations and suggestions can be given to increase the ability of the arch of the foot to adapt to movement can be made to increase vertical jumping performance in runners. Üniversite öğrencilerinde 6 haftalık online egzersiz programının kor stabilizasyon ve dikey sıçrama üzerine etkisi

The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the online exercise program on core stabilization and vertical jump. The study included 51 healthy volunteer students (32F, 19E; 19.96±1.66) registered at Fenerbahçe University and actively continuing their education. The sociodemographic characteristics of the participants were recorded with a questionnaire created by the researchers. Evaluations were made before the exercise program and at the end of the sixth week. Two of Mcgill's trunk muscle endurance tests were preferred to evaluate core stability: Trunk extensor endurance test (TEET), bilateral side bridge endurance tests (SBET), and Prone Bridge Test (PBT) was preferred for flexor endurance. Vertical Jump (VJ) test was used to evaluate vertical jump height performance. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF) was used to determine the physical activity levels of individuals, and the Physical Activity Participation Motivation Scale (MSPPA) was used to measure their motivation to participate in physical activity. Participants were randomly divided into two groups as Exercise Group (EG n=29), and Control Group (CG n=29). As the main result of this study; When the exercise group and the control group were compared, significant differences were observed in the total scores of PBT, TEET, SBET, VJ, IPAQ-SF compared to the first measurements (p<0.05). In the MSPPA total scores there was no significant difference between the groups (p>0.05), but there were significant increases within the exercise group (p<0.05). In summary, it is important for future studies that the online exercise program we implemented in this study reveals the improvements in the physical performance of the participants. From a clinical point of view, this approach we apply reveals that it can be effective in preventing problems that university students may experience due to decreased activity in the short and medium term and shows the importance of encouraging them to participate in such exercise programs. Meme kanseri tedavisi sonrası lenfödemli ve lenfödemsiz hastalarda egzersiz algısının üst ekstremite fonksiyonlarına ve yaşam kalitesine etkisi

This study was conducted with 59 patients with breast cancer who applied to Süleyman Demirel University Research and Practice Hospital, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation outpatient clinic in order to examine the exercise perceptions of patients who developed and did not develop lymphedema after breast cancer treatment. In our study, the Exercise Benefit/Barriers Scale (EBBS) was applied to all patients in order to determine the exercise perceptions of the patients. Body Awareness Questionnaire was applied to evaluate the body awareness of the patients. The Disability of Arm, Shoulder and Hand Questionnaire (DASH), Shoulder, Pain and Disability Scale (SPADI), normal joint range of motion (ROM) measurement, circumference measurement, and the Lymphedema Quality of Life-Arm (LYMQOL) Scale were used to assess upper extremity functionality. When the two groups with and without lymphedema were compared, a significant difference was found between the EBBS-Total and EBBS-Benefit values of the groups (p<0.05). When the DASH scores of the groups were compared, a significant difference was found between the two groups (p<0.05). A significant difference was found between the SPADI-Disability scores of the groups (p<0.05). Elbow flexion, supination and wrist joint movements in all directions were lower in the lymphedema group in upper extremity ROM measurements. There is a significant difference between the two groups (p<0.05). A weak positive correlation was found between DASH and EBBS in the lymphedema group (p<0.05). A moderate positive correlation was found between EBBS and LYMQOL scores (p<0.05). LYMQOL-21. There was a moderate negative correlation between the questions (p<0.05). A weak negative correlation was found between EBBS and shoulder flexion, wrist extension and radial deviation (p<0.05). A moderate positive correlation was found between EBBS and SPADI-Disability scale in the group without lymphedema (p<0.05). Conclusion; A moderate correlation was found between exercise perceptions, upper extremity functions and quality of life of patients who developed lymphedema after breast cancer. Bel ağrısı olan fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon öğrencilerinde self myofasyal gevşeme ile kombine uygulanan kor stabilizasyonegzersizlerinin etkilerinin karşılaştırılması

The primary purpose of this study is to compare two treatment protocols, which are core stability exercises combined with the self-myofascial release and only self-myofascial release regarding the functional capacity and pain. 32 physiotherapy and rehabilitation students from Yeditepe University who had no medical problems except low back pain (18W,14M;26,78±3,66) were included. The total duration of the study was 5 weeks. Group 1 (G1) received the self-myofascial release and core exercises, while group 2 (G2) received only the self-myofascial release. An evaluation was made during the pre-intervention, mid-intervention (3rd week), and post-intervention. Functional capacity was evaluated with Oswestry Scale (ODI), while the pain was measured with the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). According to the intragroup results, both the VAS-activity and the VAS-at rest decreased in both groups between pre-and post-measurements (p˂0.05). VAS-activity (p>0.05 ) and VAS-at rest (p˂0.05) increased in the 1st week in G1, while only the VAS-activity increased in G2 in the 1st week. (p>0.05) ODI scores decreased in both groups (<0.001). While nearly all of the sub-ODI scores decreased in G1 significantly (p˂0.05), the sub-scores of G2 decreased statistically significantly compared to pre-intervention scores (p˂0.05), except for social life and walking. Regarding the intergroup scores, the sudden VAS at rest scores were found to be statistically significant (p˂0.05). The decreases in VAS-activity and VAS-at rest were found to be statistically significant between groups in favour of G1 (p˂0.05). The decreases in the total ODI scores was statistically different between groups in favour of G1 (p=0.001). The decrease in pain severity, walking, sitting, and standing sub-scores of ODI were statistically different between the two groups (in favour of G1) (p˂ 0.05). As a result, it has been concluded that in contrast to only the SMFR protocol, the SMFR with core exercises could have more effective in physiotherapy students with low back pain regarding pain and functional capacity.

U19 ve U13 gruplarında oynayan elit adayı futbolcuların fonksiyonel hareket taraması test skorlarının alt ekstremite sakatlık riski ile ilişkilerinin incelenmesi

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the functional movement screen test scores of elite male football players playing in the U19 and U13 groups and the risk of lower extremity injury. The study was conducted with the retrospective data of 13-19 age group male elite candidate athletes (n=41) playing football in the development leagues determined by the Turkish Football Federation, affiliated to the Galatasaray Football Academy, in the 2018-2019 season. Functional movement screen (FMS) battery was used to determine the functional movement levels of the football players. The movements in the applied test are, respectively, deep squat, hurdle step, in-line lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight leg raise, trunk stability push-up, rotary stability. Participants were informed about the test before the measurements began, and then demonstrated as a practice. Each movement was repeated three times during the application of the test. The scores that can be obtained from the test range from 0 to 21. In the study, there was a positive and weak correlation between age and deep squat (r = .368; p<0.05), positive and moderate correlation between active straight leg raise (r = .474; p<0.05), positive and weak correlation between rotary stability (r = .363; p<0.05), and a positive and weak (r = .400; p<0.05) correlation was detected between total FMS score. When the FMS scores of the U13 football players were examined, it was seen that the highest score was shoulder mobility, the lowest score was the active straight leg raise test, while the U19 footballers got the highest score from shoulder mobility and the lowest score was from the deep squat test. As a result of the study, it was determined that the deep squat, straight forward, active straight leg raising, rotary stability and total FMS score of the U19 football players were significantly higher than the U13 football players (p<0.05). In addition, the total FMS scores of the injured players were found to be lower and below 14 points compared to the players who did not have any injuries.

Crossfit sporcularında kor stabilizasyon, denge ve çeviklik parametreleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi

This study aims to evaluate the relationship between core stabilization, balance, and agility parameters in CrossFit athletes. In addition, the second aim of the study is to examine the variation of this relationship according to gender. For this purpose, 46 CrossFit athletes (F/M 22/24) between the ages of 18-57 who met the inclusion criteria of the study voluntarily participated. After the warm-up period, McGill Core Endurance Tests to assess core stabilization, Y Balance Test for Balance assessment, T Agility Test for Agility assessment, and Body Composition Analysis to assess body fat and muscle percentages were applied to the athletes, respectively. A 5-minute rest period was given between all tests. Number Cruncher Statistical System 2007 program was used for statistical analysis of the data. As a result, a negative correlation was observed between the right-side core endurance and agility levels of CrossFit athletes (r=-,620, p<0,01). Additionally, a negative correlation was observed between the left side core endurance and agility levels of CrossFit athletes (r=-,655, p<0,01). A positive correlation was observed between the right leg balance and core stabilization parameters of the athletes (r=,354, p<0.05). There was found a positive and moderately significant relationship between left leg balance and time to completion (flexor) (r=,401, p<0,01). There was found a positive and weakly significant relationship between left leg balance and flexion: extension ratio (r=,323,p<0,05). As a conclusion, core stabilization and agility parameters in CrossFit athletes affect by backward to each other. Accordingly, it means that athletes with better side core endurance finish the t-test faster and has better agility. Keywords: CrossFit, Y balance, T-agility Test, Core Stabilization

Genç elit yelkencilerde gövde kas enduransı, denge performansı, kas kuvveti ve esneklik arasındaki ilişkinin değerlendirilmesi

This study was conducted to evaulate the relationship between core endurance levels,balance performance, muscle strenght and flexibility in young elite sailors aged between 8-20 ( 13.65 ± 2.56 years ). The athletes were randomly selected from the Galatasary sailing club and the athletes were divided into three groups according to their sailing class windsurfing, optimist and laser class respectively. A total of 26 boys and 14 girls from windsurfing (n=14), optimist (n=13) and laser (n=13) were participated in the study. Demographic features, body mass index, dominant side of the body of sailor's were recorded. For strength evaulation hand dynamometer were applied for the upper limb and vertical jump test, standing long jump test, single leg jump test were applied for the lower limb. For core endurance evaulation sit-up test, plank test and rotary stability tests were applied. For balance and flexibility evaulation Y balance test, straight leg raise test,shoulder flexibility test,sit and reach test, shoulder elevation test and total body rotatiton test were applied. When the three sailing classes were compared, a significant difference was found in the hand grip test results in terms of the mean values of both the right and left hands (p<0.001). The highest mean value was found in the laser group. According to the results of the standing long jump test, it was seen that there was a significant difference between the groups (p<0.05) and the highest mean value was also obtained in the laser group. There is a significant difference between the groups according to the results of the single leg jump test (p<0.05) and the highest average is in the windsurf group. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of vertical jump, sit-up, plank, rotary stability, straight leg raise, shoulder flexibility, shoulder elevation, sit and reach and total body rotation test results (p>0.05). According to the Y balance test results, there is a significant difference between the groups on both the right (p<0.05) and left sides (p<0.05), while the highest average values are in the optimist group. These result confirm that especially in strength and balance parameters each sailing class requires different physical properties and spesific performance parameters. Fiziksel aktif bireylerde COVID-19 enfeksiyonunun pulmoner parametreler, fonksiyonel egzersiz kapasitesi ve kor stabilite üzerine etkileri

This study investigated the effects of COVID-19 infection on lung volumes, respiratory muscle strength, dyspnea, functional exercise capacity, core stability, and quality of life in physically active individuals. This study included 50 (32.56±.9.73) healthy and physically active volunteers from Bezmialem Vakıf University, Dragos Hospital, and Physical Therapy Clinic members between January and March 2022. A total of 50 healthy individuals (24 F, 26 F, 32.56±.9.73 years) applied to the Bezmialem Dragos Hospital Physical Therapy Clinic and did at least three months of exercise and moderate physical activity per week before being included in the study. We included 25 outpatients of COVID-19 infection without hospitalization and 25 healthy adults. Lung volumes (spirometry), respiratory muscle strength (Maximum Inspiratory Capacity (MIP) and Maximum Expiratory Capacity (MEP)), dyspnea (Modified Medical Research Council Scale), functional exercise capacity (six-minute walk test (6MWT)), core stability (McGill core endurance test ) and quality of life (Short Form Survey -36) were assessed. The findings of this study revealed that exercise capacity (p=0.045), right lateral (p=0.014), and left lateral (p=0.023) core endurance and quality of life test (p =0.040) decreased in physically active COVID-19 survivors. Furthermore, volunteers in the COVID-19 Group push more dyspnea (p= 0.045) than the Control Group. Moreover, there was a positive correlation between 6MWT and McGill Lateral Right and Left core endurance tests, McGill Core endurance parameters, and MIP value (p<0.05). Thus, physically active individuals may experience a decrease in their functional capacity and core endurance after COVID-19 infection, and this may lead to experiencing more dyspnea. Adölesan dönem tenis oyuncularında ayak antropometrisi değişkenleri ile performans arasındaki ilişkinin değerlendirilmesi

The aim of this study is to evaluate the foot anthropometric values of adolescent tennis players and to investigate their effects on performance parameters. Adolescent age group 48(19M, 29F) volunteer tennis players with an average age of 11,02±1,792 who play active tennis in optimum tennis academy were included in the study. The sociodemographic characteristics of the participants were evaluated using a structured questionnaire. Bilateral anthropometric measurements of all participants with bare foot were measured with tape measure and digital caliper. Measured anthropometric values are medial malleolar height, lateral malleolar height, heel width, foot length, foot width, 1st metatarsophalangeal bone length. Performance tests, which are frequently used in tennis players, were applied to the participants. The hexagon agility test was used to determine the agility of the athlete, the y balance test to determine the dynamic balance, the vertical jump test to determine the lower extremity strength, and the navicular drop test to determine the foot arch height. As a result of our statistical analyzes, it was observed that there was a negative relationship (r=-0.322; p=0.026) between the length of the right foot and the hexagon agility test (clockwise). A statistically significant correlation was observed between left medial height and hexagon test (clockwise and counterclockwise) (p<0.05). A statistically significant correlation was observed between the Y balance test and the foot width and the length of the 1st metatarsophalangeal bone. Significant correlations were found between foot length (p<0.001), heel width (p<0.05), foot width (p<0.05), medial and lateral malleolus height (p<0.05) and vertical jump test. It was observed that there was a significant correlation between the height of the medial malleolus of the left foot and the navicular drop test, and between the height of the lateral malleolus and the navicular drop test (p<0.05). It has been found that the foot structure compatible with the hypothesis affects the performance of the athlete. According to the results of this study, we suggest examining the foot structure while evaluating the performance of tennis players and preparing the training program. After evaluating the player's foot, we can say that the performance can be optimized by using supported insoles according to the player's foot, myofascial relaxation techniques, strengthening the foot extensor muscles or strengthening the foot flexor muscles in order to achieve the desired increase in performance.

Torasik mobilite ve lumbopelvik stabilizasyon egzersizlerinin kronik ayak bileği instabilitesi olan kişilerde alt ekstremite fleksibilite, dinamik denge ve propriyosepsiyon üzerine etkisi

The aim of the study is to compare the effects of thoracic mobility exercises and lumbopelvic stabilization exercises in patients with Chronic Ankle Instability (CAI) on dynamic balance, lower extremity flexibility and proprioception. This study was conducted in Noi Physio & Pilates Studio in November 2022 and January 2023. Total of 30 participants aged 20-45 were included in the study on a voluntary basis. Demographic information and informed consent forms were filled into all subjects who volunteered to participate in the study and in accordance with the research criteria and CAIT questionnaire and who get 27 points or less from this questionnaire were included. Participant were divided into 2 groups randomly and in additon to the rehabilitation protocols, each participants was given home exercise program including ankle strenghtening exercises. Home exercise program was prescribed as 3 times a week. First group was received thoracic mobility rehabilitation exercises and second group was received lumbopelvic stabilization exercises in supervision of physiotherapist twice a week for 8 weeks (16 sessions total). Each exercise sessions taken with physiotherapist last approximately 50 minutes. Dynamic balance of the participants were assessed with Y Balance Test before and after the exercise program. Proprioception of lower extremity evaluated by measuring joint position sense with goniometer, and flexibility was assessed with Active Straight Leg Raise Test. As a result, Y Balance tests there was a significant difference in thoracic mobility group in every direction (p<.05). Active Straight Leg Raise Test has significant difference in both groups (p<.05). Joint Position Sense tests has shown a statistically significant difference between groups only in the hip and dorsiflexion (p<.05). In CAIT scores earned by the participants, a significant difference has been found between the groups for both feet. (p<.05). Sigara içen yetişkinlerde yoganın pulmoner parametreler, postür, beden farkındalığı ve yaşam kalitesi üzerine etkileri

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effects of yoga practice on pulmonary parameters, respiratory muscle strength, posture, body awareness, and quality of life among chronic smokers. This case-control study included 28 volunteers who were divided into the Smokers Group (SG)(n=14) and Control Group (CG)(n=14) according to Fagerström Cigarette Dependence Test (FT). All the participants did Yoga exercises, including active movements and poses while standing(Asana) and voluntarily regulated breathing(Pranayama) practice twice a week for six weeks. All the volunteers were assessed in terms of pulmonary functions and respiratory muscle strength, including Maximum Inspiratory Pressure (MIP) and Maximum Expiratory Pressure (MEP), using a spirometer and respiratory pressure meter, respectively. Moreover, Posture, body awareness, and quality of life were evaluated using the New York Postural Rating Chart (NYPRC), Thoracic Spine Range of Motion (TSROM), Body Awareness Questionnaire(BAQ), and World Health Organisation Quality of Life(WHOQOL-BREF) questionnaire before and after interventions. The study results showed that yoga led to statistical differences in pulmonary functions, respiratory muscle strength, posture, and quality of life at the end of the study in both groups (p<0.05). Moreover, results showed that there is a statistical difference in MIP and MIP% values compared two groups (p<0.05). The change in MIP (CG: 26.57±16.18; SG: 13.64±9.17) and MIP% (CG: 29.02±16.47; 12.71±9.07) was higher at the end of the intervention in CG. Lastly, SG has statistically lower scores in FT (p=0.001). In conclusion, we might consider that Yoga training can improve pulmonary parameters, posture, body awareness, and quality of life in smokers. We may suggest that attending Yoga practice may slow the progression of problems caused by smoking and reduce nicotine addiction in chronic smokers.

Parkinson hastalarında telerehabilitasyon temelli motor ve bilişsel ikili görev egzersizlerinin etkilerinin karşılaştırılması-randomize kontrollü bir çalışma

This study investigated the effects of telerehabilitation and motor and cognitive dual-task exercises on cognitive function, balance, walking, fall risk and quality of life in individuals with Parkinson's Disease. Thirty individuals who met the inclusion criteria and were diagnosed with 'Idiopathic Parkinson's Disease' by a neurologist were recruited. Individuals were randomly divided into three groups as Dual Task (DT) cognition (n=10), Dual Task motor (n=10) and Control group (n=10). All individuals were given a physical exercise program. In addition, individuals in the Dual Task cognition group were given cognitive tasks and individuals in the Dual Task motor group were given motor tasks. The treatment was administered online under the supervision of a physiotherapist for 60 minutes three times a week for eight weeks. In the study, the 10- meter walking test was used to assess walking speed, the Berg Balance Scale (BBS) for balance, and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale (MoCA) for cognitive function, the International Fall Effectiveness Scale (FES-I) for fear of falling, the Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire (PDQ-39) for quality of life, Timed Up and Go Test (TUG) was used for physical performance, and the Five Times Sit to Stand Test (5XSST) was used for extremity trunk strength and muscle endurance. Individuals were evaluated by the same physiotherapist before and after treatment (8 weeks). When the Quality of Life, MoCA, TUG and 10m walking test were evaluated, the mean scores obtained in the posttest in the dual task cognition and dual task motor task groups were statistically higher than the pretest scores (p<0.05). Similar increases were observed for these scales in these two groups. When BDS, 5XSST, and FES-I were evaluated, more significant results were obtained in the DT cognition group. In our study, it was found that dual-task training programs with physical exercises were effective in increasing the quality of life, walking speed and improving cognitive function. When the superiority of cognitive-motor and motor-motor dual-task combined physical exercises were examined, the cognitive-motor dual-task exercise group was found to be significantly superior in improving balance and reducing the fear of falling.

Ayak pronasyonu olan futbolcularda egzersiz eğitimi ve ark destekli tabanlıkların denge ve dikey sıçrama performansı üzerine etkileri

This study aims to investigate the effects of foot pronation exercises and arch support insole on balance and vertical jump test in football players. A total of 30 volunteer football players including this study between March 2022 - August 2022. The athletes who were randomly divided into 2 groups which is the insole (n=15) and insole+exercise group (n=15). Insole groups used customized medial arch supported insole for four weeks. Insole+exercise group did foot core exercises programme twice a week for four weeks and used customized medial arch supported insoled for four weeks.All the volunteers were assessed in term of performance test and foot arch level test, including Navicular Drop Test, Y-Balance Test, Flamingo Test, Vertical Jump Test, VAS questionnaire before and after interventions. The study results showed that with in groups, insole+exercise group differences were (0.8±0.41cm), has more significant difference than the insole group changes (0.4± 0.51 cm) in navicular drop test (p<0.05). Moreover, ybalance Within groups demonstrated statistically significant differences (p<0.05) there was no significant difference in nondominant flamingo test results. (p>0.05).However, there was a significant difference in dominnat flamingo test between groups. (p<0.05). In vertical jump test , there was no significant difference in between groups.(p>0.05) However, there was a significant difference within groups. (p<0.05) Lastly, it was observed that insole+exercise groups were higher positively difference (3.0±0.92), than the insole group (2.0±1.06), (p<0.05). Thus, we conclude that elite football players should be assessed with a holistic approach and physiotherapists should advise not only performance-enhancing exercises and insoles but also structured exercise programs, including short foot exercises, towel curl exercises, and heel-to-rise exercises to elite football players with foot pronation deformity. Master yüzücülerde pektoralis major, sternokleidomastoid ve iliopsoas kaslarının gerilmesinin 800 metre yüzme performansına etkisi

This study aimed to examine the effect of stretching exercises applied to the Pectoralis major, Sternocleidomastoid and Iliopsoas muscles on 800-meter swimming performance in master swimmers. This randomized study included 30 volunteer master swimmers who were divided into an Experimental Group (n=15) and a Control Group (n=15). While the participants in the Experimental Group performed stretching exercises every day for six weeks in addition to their swimming training, the participants in the Control Group continued their regular swimming training. All participants' 800-meter performance measurements and muscle flexibility were evaluated before and after the interventions by timing and using the MyotonPro Device. As a result of the study, a statistically significant improvement was observed in the 800 meters of both groups (p<0.05), but no statistically significant result was obtained between the groups (p>0.05). In the measurements made using the MyotonPro device, no statistically significant change was observed in either group (p>0.05). As a result, it was observed that swimming training affected on the 800-meter time of master swimmers. Ayakbileği instabilitesi olan üniversiteli genç sporcularda kas tonusunun ve dengenin değerlendirilmesi

The aim of this study is to evaluate muscle tone and balance in young collegiate athletes with ankle instability. 19 (12F, 7M) volunteer athletes who enrolled as team member at Yeditepe University's Directorate of Culture and Sports between 2022-2023 were included in the study. 12 volunteer were with a CAI record (8F, 4; 21.16 ± 2.44 years) and 7 volunteer athletes were healthy (3F, 4M; 21.57 ± 2.76years). All participants will be placed in the Chronic Ankle Instability Group (CAI) after completing an assessment form that proposes about their demographic and clinical characteristics, if their Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT) score is 24 or less, and if they receive a Foot and Ankle Ability Measure (FAAM) questionnaire score of 90% for Daily subscale and 80% for Sports subscale. Healthy participants constituted the control group (CG). After participants were divided into groups, MyotonPRO® was used for myotonometry for assessing muscle biomechanical properties. For static and dynamic balance tests, the ProKin (TecnoBody, Dalmine, Italy) device was utilized. Myotonometry measurements targeted the superficial muscles around the ankle peroneus longus, tibialis anterior, lateral and medial gastrocnemius (PL, TA, LG and MG). Balance measurements were conducted with eyes open and closed, including both static and dynamic balance while standing on one leg. The data from the two groups were compared at the study's conclusion, and any differences were examined. Using the SPSS program, the data were statistically analyzed. Due to the limited sample size, significant differences between the biomechanical properties of muscles and balance parameters could not be observed.
