Merâğî tefsirinde had cezasıyla ilgili âyetlerin karşılaştırmalı analizi / The hudud verses in the interpretation of al-Maraghi(Analysis and comparison)

This study aimed to trace the approach of Sheikh Al-Maraghi in interpreting the Qur'an, especially the verses of the Hudud (limits), and to study the extent of his adherence to or violation of his jurisprudential school of thought. And whether he had personal jurisprudence independent of those who preceded him from The interpreters. The importance of this study comes from the importance of the scholarly personality of Sheikh Al-Maraghi, and the importance of his reformist project, which is open to other religions and cultures of his time. And the fact that he assumed the presidency of Al-Azhar in most of his scientific life, and played a prominent and essential role in the political and scientific life of his time. The researcher followed the historical approach when reviewing the biographical and scholarly biography of Sheikh Al-Maraghi, and the most prominent features of his era. And the descriptive inductive approach when reviewing what he wrote in interpreting the verses of the Hudud. The analytical descriptive was in analyzing the sheikh's efforts and comparing them with those who preceded him of the commentators to reveal his jurisprudence and understand his method in it. The most important conclusions of the study are: The interpretation of Al-Maraghi is based on the necessity of simplifying the interpretation so that the reader can understand it, regardless of his educational level, and that he did not adhere to his Hanafi school of thought. As for the verses of the Hudud, Al-Maraghi sees the right to apply the Hudud, and that the limit must not be disrupted or mitigated. But he violated the limit of cutting off the thief's hand and set its quorum, equal to 1.2 g of gold. The study showed how Al-Maraghi was influenced in his interpretation by the thoughts of his sheikh and teacher, Imam Muhammad Abduh, who is based on the free methods, and focusing on the wisdom of the Sharia - according to his diligence - more than his adherence to the details of rulings, the need to understand reality and its data, and his emphasis on the appropriateness of the Qur'an for every time and place, and adherence to its origins and goals.
