Özet (EN)

As in all over the world and every year in our country, many people are lost or injured due to the disasters. Timely and appropriate response of emergency health services during disasters is very important in the fight against disasters. Therefore, emergency medical teams should have sufficient knowledge and skills in disaster medicine. The aim of this thesis is to measure the knowledge and skills of emergency health personnel about first aid during disasters. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on health care professionals within the Bitlis province. In this survey, 20 multiple choice questions were asked to measure the level of knowledge as well as descriptive questions such as age, gender, profession, education. A series of statistical analyzes were performed to evaluate the obtained data. Firstly, it was tested whether the distribution of the samples matched the normal distribution. After that, parametric tests were performed on the samples that fit the normal distribution and non-parametric tests were applied on the samples that did not fit the normal distribution. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that variables such as age, medical education and experience differ significantly in terms of achievement levels of emergency health care professionals. Consequently, it is emphasized that theoretical and training of emergency health care professionals should be focused on for more effective emergency response during disasters.
