Abstract (EN)

Hurufat Books are one of the series of books in which foundation records are kept and constitute an important group of sources for understanding the Ottoman foundation tradition and organization. The notebook that is the subject of this study; XVIII. the century presents to us the local administrative structure in Ottoman Rumelia, the foundations and the functioning of these institutions, the appointments made, the names of the officials and the fees they receive, the changes in duties and the development and change it shows over time. The purpose of preparing this study is to analyze and transcribe the Rumeli Hurufat Notebook No. 1164, which is kept in the Archive of the General Directorate of Foundations, and to make it available to the scientific world. In our study, respectively, after the introduction of the Hurufat Notebooks, their content and evaluation as a source were made. After that, information about the foundation was provided and the data contained in the ledger that we examined was processed by evaluating the foundation institutions and foundation officials. Finally, the transcription text of the notebook is included.
