Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is; The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of recreational exercise on self-esteem in obese children. Twenty obese sedentary children aged 12-14 years were included in the study group and 20 non-obese sedentary children aged 12-14. The experimental group was subjected to 8 weeks of recreational exercise and the control group was not subjected to any exercise activity. In the study, the sub-category of Rosenberg self-esteem scale was used to determine the self-esteem levels of the individuals. SPSS 22 IBM statistical package program was used in the evaluation and evaluation of the data. Data are summarized as mean and standard deviation. As a result of the analysis; There was a statistically significant improvement in self-esteem levels of the experimental group in the recreational exercise. As a result, we can say that recreation-oriented walking exercises have positive effects on selfesteem levels due to improvement in body mass indexes in obese children.
