Özet (EN)

The 1234 Anonymous Syriac Chronicle, written by an unknown author in the 13th century, is one of the most important examples of Syriac history writing tradition. The author, who started his work from Creation, as many did, kept a record of the political events that took place until year 1234. The chapter discussed in the thesis work begins with the emergence of the Prophet of Islam and provides information on the historical process of the Four Caliphs, the Umayyad and Abbasid states, respectively. Then, in accordance with the chronology of the Turks in the Middle East, the political activities started in the subject, this process shares important information about the Great Seljuk and Anatolian Seljuk states, but at this point, the interest of the work mainly focuses on events in Syria, Mesopotamia and Palestine. At this point, an important part of the work is the Atabegler period. The book also provides information about the events that took place in the Roman Empire in a historical process parallel to this information. Nevertheless, an important part of the work is the records of the Crusades and the struggle between the Crusaders and Muslims. The work ends with the records of Malik al-Kamil's Anatolia campaign, ruler of the Egyptian Ayyubid State.
