Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this research is to examine the effect of 8-week tabata training applied to 14-16 age group boxers on performance. The research group consists of 14 participants. After the athletes' height and weight were taken, bicycle ergometer was applied to measure MaxVO2 values, Illinois, T-Test and Hexagon tests were applied for agility tests, respectively. For the speed test, 20 meters running and for the explosive strength test, vertical jump and standing long jump test were applied. The data obtained within the scope of the research were tested using Mann-Whitney U, Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks Test and Quade's ANCOVA Test. According to the results of the research, it was determined that there was no statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test values of the experimental and control groups of the participants' MaxVO2, vertical jump and heart rate variables. On the other hand, according to the analysis results of the participants' standing long jump, T-Test, Illinois Test and 20-meter sprint test, a statistically significant difference was found between the pre-test and post-test values of the experimental group, while the pre-test and post-test values of the control group were found to be statistically significant. It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference only in body mass index and hexagon test values between the values. As a result; It has been determined that tabata training applied to boxers improves weight control, explosive strength, speed and agility levels.
