The art of tile, which takes place between the branches of art in the Seljuk and Ottaman Empire period, has become intense particularly since 16th century. New approaches, which is brought to the tile composition in palace engraving place by palace artisan, lead to emerge different styles unique to the Ottoman. In this study, styles, blue-white tiles are examined under the title of Damascus and Rhodes tile works.In the first part of this study, the general characteristics of Iznik tiles are touched upon. In the second part, stylishness and style features are handled. In the third part of this study, the samples, which is selected from the ceramic plate forms including 16th and 17th century Iznik tiles design, are examined in terms of design principles and elements. The forth part of this study consists of data and suggestions acquired by research results.In this study, the determination of graphic design principles in the Iznik ceramic plates, the attitudes of tile and figure designers concerning the use of certain principles, and the existence of the thought of Turkish graphic design since the ancient times are determined, and some suggestions are made for the people who will do researches on this field.Key Words: İznik, Tile, Style, Graphic Design, Graphic Design Principle
