Abstract (EN)

The 17th century was a strong period of classical Turkish poetry. The poets of the period demonstrated their art through different verse forms such as ode, ghazal, ruba'i, kıta. Especially the fahriye section in the ode was an important tool for poets to show their own personalities, poems and talents. There were various expectations behind the poets' praise of their praised ones. In order for these expectations to be fulfilled, poets tried to prove that they were worthy of the praise by praising their personalities, poems and talents. The subject of the thesis is a detailed examination of the fahriye section in the 17th century odes. In this context, the personalities and poetic abilities of the poets were examined; their poems were examined in terms of meaning, idea, tone and style beauty. In the fahriye section, the poets frequently compared themselves with other poets; in this comparison, the poet sometimes considered himself superior, criticized other poets and sometimes accepted the same poets as masters and considered himself their follower. This situation was addressed in the thesis in terms of the poet comparing himself with Turkish, Arab, Persian and other poets without naming them.
