Psycho-social problems experienced by persons with physicaldisabilities between the ages of 18-29

Disability is one or more of the congenital, birth or subsequently acquired disabilities. People may experience disability at some point in their lives. This disabled individual or may be close. Disability is divided into physical and mental. physical disability who cannot use all or part of their bodily functionality as a result of various reasons and For this reason, individuals who have problems in adapting to social life are called. Disabled individuals experience some psycho-social problems either in the family or in the society. This problems affect their psychological health level and social life deeply. This introversion, communication disorder and interpersonal relationship in disabled individuals due to various reasons. We can see that problems arise at the level of the child. Disability status of people with disabilities is not always related to health. One or more of the individual the absence of a limb, that is, the acceptance of permanent disability by the disabled individual and his family, social environment to accept this situation and exhibit appropriate behavior, Some psycho-social problems may arise during the acceptance and communication of the disabled individual. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with adult individuals with physical disabilities and their psycho-social problems were discussed in detail. During the study, analysis and interpretations were included with the understanding of the individual in his environment by making use of the basic references of social work science. In this study, qualitative research method was used and one-time sessions were created with 15 physically disabled individuals. A semi-structured questionnaire was used in these sessions. Sessions lasted an average of 40-45 minutes. As a result of the research, it was found that physically disabled young people experience permanent problems in the fields of social, psychological, economic, accessibility-service, education life and bilateral relations. At the end, suggestions were presented for the disabled, politicians and those working in this field.
