Abstract (EN)

From the beginning of the twentieth century, as parallel to the technological developments incredible progresses have been experiencing in the field of communication. Indeed, before the studies about communication subject reach serius dimensions, the concept of mass communication has been started to be spoken. In globalization process, the effectivite of mass communication means is inevitably. The subject which should be emphasized in this point is television. Because, the situation in which the earth is explanied as a large village is the speed of stream of knowledge and forming of the public opinion. The most significant development in speaking of this situation is the most common use of the television. It was normal to concentrade the studies on this macig box enabling to service to the viewers simultoneusly with the live imagitions of the fights happening on a very frew known country over the world. In order to investigate tv and it's effects determining some subjects divided into subheads is necessary for the features of humanities. In this thesis the subject of Tv watching tendencies of 18-30 aged adults and the effects of television on 18-30 aged viewers was investigated with local research. In this study content, after the concepts of mass communacition, and television and adults had been taken on, the affairs of television individual and television community were investigated. After this documantary collection, with the effect research carried out in Erzurum city centre, television watching tendencies of mentioned regions people, and the effects of the television on this group were pointed out in details. In this thesis, a local model of wide scale effect research carried out as to television is drawn.
