Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to comparatively examine the short-term effects of different taping techniques on static balance in football players. Football performance requires optimal static balance, especially during sudden directional changes, single-leg support, and physical contact. In this context, the effects of kinesiotape, athletic tape, and sham tape on balance performance were evaluated to determine which method provides better support for athletic performance. The research adopted an experimental method using a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 16 male athletes aged between 18 and 25 who regularly play football. Participants were randomly assigned into three groups: kinesiotape, athletic tape, and sham tape. Two measurements were taken, one before and one after the intervention. The Stand Stork Test and Star Excursion Balance Test were used to assess static balance. Data were analyzed using parametric tests; group differences were evaluated with independent samples t-tests and one-way ANOVA. The findings revealed that both kinesiotape and athletic tape applications significantly improved static balance levels. Kinesiotape in particular led to more prominent improvements in balance scores. In contrast, the sham tape application did not result in statistically significant changes. These results provide a scientific basis for selecting appropriate taping techniques in balance-focused applications. The study offers valuable contributions to athlete health and performance development by identifying effective methods for enhancing static balance.
