In native language education, grammar education in which basic rules of language are taught plays an important role. Grammar, together with basic linguistic skills, consists of more correct and functional use of native language. In order to speak native language effectively, rules of grammar should be known correctly and thoroughly. In this study, an analysis on basic terms forming the basis of grammar education was conducted. Initially referring to notions of term and terminology, importance of these concepts in education of native language and terminological issues found in education of Turkish Language were considered. In the following chapter, the issue of Turkish education before and during Reformation Period was analyzed, and an attempt was made to explain how and over which lessons the education of Turkish Language was conducted during this period. In the final chapter of the study, a glossary of terms was prepared by means of selecting grammar books written during 1839-1908 period.
