In the Ottoman Empire, more systematic regularity had been tried to be constituted, by doing important changes in the tax system after the announcement of the Tanzimat Firman. In this period, some of the taxes taken in different names and types were cancelled and public payment based TEMETTÜ tax had been excised. The transactions in this type of tax were recorded in the books named Temettü?at books. The Temettü?ad books, which can give important informations about the socioeconomic structure of the 19.th century, are in the Premiership Ottoman Archives today. In 1988 the classification works were finished and The Temettü?ad books were served up to the researchers? use. These books had been occured with the records of the landed properties, animals, hire revenues, metier and art revenues. Temettü?ad books include many different kinds of information such as population of the period, economic and commercial situation of the area, structure of the territory and agricultural production, distribution of animals, income and wealth levels of the families, etc. The transcription and the analysis studies were accomplished as master thesis study .
