The alphabet problem in Azerbaijan between 1850-1950 and the effect of Stalinism on Azerbaijani Turkish

In this study, which is called The Alphabet Problem in Azerbaijan between 1850-1950 and the Effect of Stalinism on Azerbaijani Turkish, the alphabet problems of the Turkish nation (Azerbaijan Turks), who used the Arabic alphabet for about 8-9 centuries, are discussed. The main of the thesis is that Mirza Fathali Akhundov, the great intellectual of Azerbaijani Turks, started to struggle by seeing the problems related to the alphabet. İn the period after Akhundov, his successors continued his struggle, the results that were obtained, the way to the 1-st Turcology Congress, the realization of Akkhundov's wishes after his death as he said, were considered as the main subject of the thesis. In addition, in the thesis, in order to confront the convergence of Azerbaijan, which uses the Latin alphabet, and Turkey, which transitions to the Latin alphabet, İ. Stalin's intervention in the alfabe issue, the passage to the Cyrillic alphabet and how it affected the Azerbaijani Turkish were written down. The thesis was concluded by adding the conclusion part.
