Abstract (EN)

Tereke records are included in Şer'iyye registers(Islamic Court records). The books of the legacies of the deceased are recorded. In this respect, it is one of the important sources of Ottoman socio-economic history. In this study, socio economic life in Milas is taken as a basis in the form of books 139, 140 and 141. In this context, the maritime status of the owners, the number of children, the nicknames they used, the places of death, the clothing they left behind, the household items, accessories, books, weapons and other elements of material culture were put forward. Under the heading of economic life, issues such as economic conditions, occupations, houses and shops, animals, cash and gold, debts and receivables of the socio living in Milas are covered. In this respect, the study is the first study that deals with socio life based on Tereke records in Milas.
