Tsarist Russia's education and culture policies in Turkistan region in 19. century

Abstract (EN)

Tsarist Russia, which emerged as an active power in the region after Golen Horde's politic entitiy come to an end, followed expansionist policy in Turkistan region as of second half of XVI. century. Tsarist Russsia's Expajsionist policy lasted untill the cecond half of XIX. century. Tsarist Russia's expansion to Turkistan which occupies extensive land, did not become reality with just in single ruler's period or a single military expedition. In consequence of this long period; Tsarist Russia, becoming dominant power in Turkistan, understood that they couldn't ensure sovereignty whit just military force and brought education and culture policy to Turkistan. And Turkistan Khanates could notresist aganist Russian expansion due to confliction among them. There was no unity among Turks living in Turkistan, so this pave the way for Russian expansion. Turk lands, after being under sway of Russian sovereignty, became vulnerable to misionary activities and Russianize policy corried ouy by Tsarist Russia. With this activities towars to Tsarist Russia's Russianize policy in Turkistan region, implementations in education and culture were executed. In this sense, it is discussed that the effects of Tsarist Russia's on Turkistan and contagion on social and cultural life of Turks.
