Abstract (EN)

In this study, by taking advantage of the works of the writers who told their societies in their travels in the 19th century, the opportunity to look at the Ottoman lands through their eyes was evaluated. By using the observations of the foreign travelers of the 19th century chosen as a sample, the writings on this subject have been cataloged in a way. The selected travelers were based on their reflections of coffee culture and coffeehouses in the Ottoman Empire. Many travelers were examined, but in part elections were made within this boundary. The aim of this study is to examine the claims of the period travelers on coffee consumption and coffeehouse culture in Ottoman society and to gather them together. Descriptive and content analysis will be done by qualitative data analysis method by examining the concepts in detail.
