Rums in Gümüşhane Sanjak at the last quarter of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century

The Ottoman Empire, in terms of the geography in which it was founded and expanded, accommodated a large number of communities belonging to different religions and sects. The most prominent of these groups, which are governed by a system expressed on the basis of religion and the term "Millet System", is the Greeks. In this study, the Greeks who lived in the Sanjak of Gumushane in the late 19th and early 20th centuries under the administration of the Ottoman Empire will be examined. The population, migration and activities of the Greeks in every region of the Ottoman geography in the 1880-1918 date range will be discussed in the light of the literature and the documents in the Presidential Ottoman Archives.
