A review of Turkish Poetry Anthologies edited between 1923-1950

These works, which first appeared in the art of poetry, were also made in different disciplines such as short stories, painting and photography over time. Anthologies serve many purposes such as valuing the work of art, serving the history of literature, highlighting the artist, introducing, informing, and spreading propaganda. From a broad perspective, an anthology can be considered as a textbook, a book of criticism and a history of literature. The scarcity of studies on anthologies prepared on Turkish literature led us to study and analyze this field. In this way, we have tried to determine the poetry anthologies prepared between 1923 and 1950, the authors who compiled these anthologies, the value judgments in the selection of poems and poets of the period and the understanding of art of the period. In the "Introduction" section of the study, we gave information about the anthology and talked about the process of the development of this genre in Turkish literature. In the second section, we examined, compared, and evaluated the anthologies of folk literature prepared between 1923 and 1950. In the third section, we examined, compared, and evaluated the anthologies of divan literature prepared between 1923 and 1950. In the fourth section, we examined, compared, and evaluated the anthologies of Turkish poetry under the influence of the West prepared between 1923 and 1950. In the conclusion section, we reached a general evaluation about the anthologies prepared between 1923 and 1950 based on the findings we obtained. r.
