An examination of novel reviews published in newspaper and periodicals between the years 1924-1928

In this research, writings about criticism which published in newspapers and periodicals in the period between 1924 and 1928 and critical articles on the novels of local and foreign authors were examined. In the first chapter of dissertation, which consist of three chapters, includes writings studying criticism as a literary genre in addition to the introduction of opinions on the definition of criticism, its purpose in the aforementioned period. Reviews on Turkish novels and novelists and the reviews on foreign novels and novelists by critics were analyzed in the second and third chapters respectively. In the conclusion part, the main approaches with which the critics evaluated the novels and what they referred to as the object of criticism were stated briefly.
