Abstract (EN)

The main aim of the work is to evaluate the social, economic and demographic form of Kütahya in the eary years of Republic, by making use of the Yearbooks which printed in Ottaman language before the alphabet revolution. By the way of this aim three state yearbooks which published between 1925 and 1928 and Kütahya sections of a Turkey Yearbook were transcribed one by one. Then some evaluations were made about Kütahya by the datum from these texts. In these evaluations by using of the yearbooks some information was given about Kütahya's history, borders, administrative system, population and demographic events, business activities, farming, forastry, mining, industry and agricultural facilities. Besides the tradesmen's names and their trade areas in that period in Kütahya and its towns were determined. Different from these information about Kütahya and its towns' firms, spas the roads that link Kütahya to other cities and its own towns, the banksand the newspapers published in the city, was reached. Another information that handed from the yearbooks is government official's names who had worked in Kütahya. By way of these officials, it was possible to get information about the government agencies in Kütahya. When the information which was obtained is evaluated it was confirmed that the yearbooks are the main source for local history. By this way it can be said that the yearbooks are a value of indispensible archives for local history researchers.
