Social cultural structure of Sinop between 1928-1938

This study examined the socio-cultural structure of Sinop between 1928 and 1938. To identify the socio-cultural activities, beliefs and historical buildings of Sinop in those stated years, the data which was taken from the Ankara National Library, the Sinop Public Library, the Central Library of Sinop University, Sinop Teacharage and the Sinop Official Gazette was used. The study consists of four parts. In the first chapter, the population, economy, administrative structure, geographical features of Sinop and these components' effect on people's life styles were mentioned. The people who were brought up by Sinop and who influenced our history were also mentioned in this chapter. In the second chapter, the education system camposing the social activities, the conditions of schools, the Turkish Quartes, the studies of the People's Hall, the library and the press of Sinop were included. In the third chapter, the cultural structures, the folkloric characteristics beliefs, the customs and traditions of Sinop and its districts were expounded. In the fourth chapter, the socio-cultural activities taken place in Sinop were represented in the light of the newspaper. This study was also supported by the interviews.
