Socio-economic life and peasant farmer problems between 1945 and 1950 (Central Anatolia example)

This thesis investigates the socio-economic and political structure of Turkey between 1945 and 1950, a period marked by the aftermath of the Second World War. Although Turkey did not actively participate in the war, it faced severe economic consequences. This era is particularly significant as it witnessed the country's transition to a multi-party political system and major shifts in both social and economic policies. Focusing on Central Anatolia, the study examines the hardships experienced by the peasant and farmer population, who became increasingly impoverished during the war years. These difficulties are analyzed within the context of government policies implemented in the post-war period. Through an in-depth review of contemporary publications, official records, and scholarly literature, this research provided the author with a deeper understanding of a historically and personally significant period. The process also contributed meaningfully to the author's academic development. It is hoped that this thesis will offer valuable insight for researchers interested in Turkey's modern political history and the socio-economic conditions of rural communities in the mid-20th century.
