Reflections of Turkish political life from 1980 to 2010 on history education

In this study, the effects of political movements and government changes in Turkey between 1980-2010 on "Turks' Steps on History Scene and Early Turkic States" unit in the "General Turkish History" section of the History 1 textbooks were examined. In the study presented, the findings obtained as a result of the screening of the Communiqué Journal and the ten books selected from the list of the History 1 textbooks recommended in the Communiqué Journal between 1980-2010 were the population and the sample of the study. In addition, many books have been scanned and the government changes of the Republic of Turkey have been investigated. In the first part of the study, the History 1 programs and textbooks were briefly mentioned in the period, primarily from the establishment of the Republic to 1980, and then the History 1 programs and History 1 textbooks between 1980-2010 years were examined. In the second part of the study, the process of the " Turks' Steps on History Scene and Early Turkic States " unit in the History 1 textbooks published after 1980 was examined. In the third section, the " Turks' Steps on History Scene and Early Turkic States" unit has been inspected for auxiliary features. In the fourth and the final chapter of the study, the findings obtained were evaluated and commented on these findings. According to the comments, " Turks' Steps on History Scene and Early Turkic States" unit changes in terms of program and content between 1980-2010. These changes have the impact of the Turkish Republic's governments.
