Abstract (EN)
There have been many changes in the field of journalism from past to present, and one of these changes is the transformation of the press into media as a result of the neoliberal policies implemented after 1980. It is known that the January 24 Decisions taken during the Turgut Özal period in particular were effective in this transformation. The implementation of these decisions resulted in the traditional journalist families moving away from the sector and then the capital groups with investments in sectors such as banking, contracting, construction, industry, and finance entering the media sector. In this context, after 1980, the journalism profession and later the journalists working within this professional group were affected by this development. In line with this thesis, it is possible to see this change in journalist-themed films in Turkish Cinema. This transformation from press to media was addressed through the journalist-themed films "Kral Arkadaşım (1964), Canavar Cafer (1975), Gazeteci (1979), Talihli Amele (1980), Skandal (1987) and Gazeteci Kız (1988)", which were shot in Turkish Cinema in the years before and after 1980 and were selected in line with this study. The aim of this study is to reveal the transformation of the press into media through six selected films in Turkish Cinema, through content analysis on the profession of journalism and journalists working in this profession. As a result of the study, it has been revealed that the journalist in Turkish Cinema has evolved in the films, and that there have been changes in the news making practices, professional ethical codes, job descriptions and usable technological accessories of this professional group of journalism. Journalists have transformed from idealist journalists to corner journalists; In places where press workers such as reporters, photojournalists and columnists work in newspapers.
