Abstract (EN)

Football is a spectacular game and socialization resource for many people who describe different belongings all countries of the world also Turkey. The game which has most popular status among sport branches is seen a sport for only men. It associated with sex necessitate to scrutinize in context of power relationships about relevant of social structure which include construction of masculinity and feminity. In this framework, football which is a social space is directly related to patriarchal system within man-centric stucture and exclusionist mechanism which is generated by man-centric power relationships. Aim of thesis; while football which relates to construction of hegemonic masculinity is discussed through sport media, impact of hegemonic masculinity's creation will be presented by the media with their language and discoure in social realities for transmission to readers and audiences. In this context, from 1980 to nowadays, historical background consists of the historic process. Because of that, several headlines of newspapers, contents of news and speechs of television programmes will be demonstrated to analyse about their role of construction of hegemonic masculinity.
