The stories on immigration and maintaining a reoriented life in relation with how Armenian women who immigrated from Armenia to Turkey after 1990s experience space and identity

This dissertation aims to investigate and discuss how Armenian women who immigrated from Armenia to Turkey after 1990s face with problems in Turkey's daily life because of immigrant multicultural identities they have constructed while dealing with social marginalization and discrimination occuring both in Armenian and in Turkish socities depending on how they experience space. Moreover, it will try to comprehend how the immigrant Armenian women overcome disorientation and reorientation processes and how they build new ways of living their lives in Turkey. Although the immigration and immigrant statues are different from the usual ones since there are no established diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey and the border gates are not open for crossing, the dissertation history by their existence and their relations with others around them in spite of all these disconnected relations between two countries. This research carried out with the in-depth interviews being conducted with 15 Armenian women by using oral history method in a field study being done in İstanbul.
