Abstract (EN)

Ion sources produces proton beam with required properties. The extraction system of ion sources consists of electrodes achieve optimum beam shape and emittance. The system used to transport the proton beam with required properties to the Radio Frequency Quadruple (RFQ) is called as the Low Energy Beam Transport (LEBT) system. Transport of the proton beam with minimum loss is one of the mission of LEBT. There are a Microwave Discharge Ion source with 20 keV energy and LEBT line with 2 solenoid magnets at KAHVE Laboratory. This study consists of two parts. First part includes the experimental measurement of solenoids magnetic fields which are the part of the LEBT line of 20 keV Microwave Discharge Ion Source and also compare this magnetic fields with the one simulated with Poisson Superfish program. The second part includes the design of the three electrode extraction system by adding a new negative voltage electrode to the MDIS electrode system in the KAHVE Laboratory, aiming to suppress the electrons emitted from the ion source.
