Abstract (EN)

In the first part of this study, general information about 20th-century music and Azerbaijani music is given, historical development process and Azerbaijani folk music ("Folk ballad", "Dances", "Mugham Art" and "Ashik Art") are examined. Azerbaijani music and composers, who have gone through a difficult period, have not lost their national music spirit and transferred it to new generations due to the cultural war they lived under Soviet pressure. In the second part, the historical process of the Composition School and the Development Periods of Music Culture were examined. The life, music and contributions of the important composers of the 20th century in the context of eastwest are indicated. In the last part of our study, the ballets "Third Symphony", "Seven Beauties", "Lightning by Ways", "Don Quixote" symphonic engravings and "Alban Rhapsody" in Karayev's works were analyzed in the context of East-West and their contributions were examined. In these works, the composer succeeded in conveying the national way of thinking of every nation with the language of music. This is due to the composer's attitude towards folk music.
