Özet (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to distinguish the concepts of special effects and visual effects, to explain their usage, basic structural differences and the relations between them, through the films selected by showing the Turkish Science Fiction Cinema as an example. For this purpose, the study is composed of 4 parts. In the first chapter, cinema, the illusion of movement that lies in the emergence of cinema, the history and development of cinema and the moving image are explained. In the second part, Science Fiction Cinema and its features, cinema genres with which Science Fiction Cinema is related, and the historical process and development of Turkish Science Fiction Cinema are explained. In the third chapter, the concepts of special effects, visual effects, techniques, separation and processes are explained, especially through the scenes of the movies of Hollywood Cinema, where these techniques are used the most. In the fourth chapter, especially in his own period, he made a name for himself in the use of visual effects and special effects; G.O.R.A., A.R.O.G. and ARİF V 216, the special effects and visual effects techniques used in the films were examined in detail, and the differences in the structure of the two types of effects, the relationships between their use and the scenes in which these techniques were used in the films were examined. With these examinations, it has been concluded that the distinction between two different types of effects can be made and should not be confused, and that nowadays especially special effects can be made in digital environment.
